Grenade

No...Jersey Shore fans, not unattractive girls who wear clothes 2 sizes too small
The song....the Smitty's are diggin' Mr. Bruno Mars, not so much on the cocaine use, but his songs we love
The first time James and I heard the song Grenade was on a Friday night after work trip to Ikea
Surprisingly, Cali knew every single word....
Where she heard the song before I have no clue
James and I were holding hands squeezing the heck out of each other trying not to giggle
When our blue-eyed babe is engrossed in a song...it is like she is feeling every word in her soul
She had us completely believing she would jump in front of a train and take a bullet to the brain....all for love.
Cut to the past 6 weeks, I wish I could take a Grenade for our girl and it would have been my foot on the operating table
It has been a strange and unfamiliar 6 weeks, our car has broken down 3 times, this means 3 rental cars;
My house is a mess because all my energy has been focused on getting our girl better;
I am becoming much better with the wheelchair, I fondly named the Beast;
Our puppy girls have not gotten as much attention, so they are being naughty;
Cali and I have watched every season of Dog the Bounty Hunter, her favorite show;
AND
Calista and I have taken several mini road trips to downtown Phoenix to see her surgeon
The road trips I look forward to, we have the radio UP and we sing our souls out
Today's visit was great...he said she had to start trying to walk a little bit everyday
Her next appointment is in 6 weeks and he wants us to bring a shoe for her frankenfoot!
When we left, she was scared and thought walking would be harder than the Dr. said
But, we both knew she could do it.
Since we currently have a rental car, with a sunroof...we took the LONG way home
No freeways, just windows down, sunroof open, radio UP
AND
An hours worth of my girl and I singing our hearts out, singing the worries away if you will
AND
When we pulled in our neighborhood guess what song came on
Grenade.....so I pulled an un-safe Mom move and let her stand up, head out of the sunroof singing away
We drove around the neighborhood singing and giggling
(before you call CPS I was only going 10 mph)
AND
When we got home....our girl took her first steps with her crutches
Beautiful day is what it is

Why are these pictures sideways???  I have no clue, but still a good day!
